The Power of Jesus’ Blood

The precious powerful blood of Christ purifies us from all sin.
God was in Christ redeeming us by His blood & reconciling us unto Himself (2 Corinthians 5:18-19; Galatians 3:13).
On that mount of crucifixion fountains of grace & mercy opened deep & wide.
The forgiving Love of God flowed freely as the precious blood of Christ was shed.
Today we will think upon how Jesus’ blood makes forgiveness freely available.

in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7

Through the precious blood of Christ we receive the forgiveness of God.
Christ shed His blood to cleanse us from sin & release the forgiveness of God.
As Christ hung on the tree the forgiving love of God was flowing through every drop of Jesus’ precious blood.
Carrying power to forgive us of our every sin – past, present & future.
Our debt of sins was wiped clean – cancelled completely (Colossians 2:13-14). Total forgiveness. Just amazing.
What a mighty act of love & grace. Thank you, Lord.

God redeems us in, & through, Christ, His Son & our Saviour.
The precious powerful blood of Christ pays the price to bring us back into relationship with God.
Without Christ we are lost & dead in sin as enemies of God (Ephesians 2:5; Romans 5:10, Colossians 1:21-22).
Christ’s shed blood ransoms & rescues us & brings us back into relationship with our heavenly Father.
The forgiveness of God cancelling & wiping out the great unpayable debt of sin we owed to make us friends of God again.
O what a Saviour, O what a sacrifice. O how powerful & precious the blood of Jesus is
Saved by the power of Christ’s blood to be set apart as sons & saints of God. So, so good!!!

Freely we have received & freely we are to give (Matthew 10:8).
Forgiveness is a powerful & freeing force that brings the Lord’s healing into our lives.
As the Lord’s forgiven & freed people we are to be those who release forgiveness to others.
Jesus strongly emphasises this & highlights it through His parables (Matthew 6:12-15; Matthew 18:21-35; Colossians 3:13).
We are those who are to live in a constant stream of forgiveness.
Receiving it from the Lord & releasing it to others.
How wonderful, how marvellous that Jesus willingly shed His precious blood for you & me!!
How amazing that we are forgiven & free!

For Reflection

  • Am I living in the flow of God’s forgiveness in Christ – receiving it & releasing it?
  • How easy do I find it to forgive others?
  • Meditate upon the forgiveness that is freely available in Christ.

A song related to this theme:

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for Your forgiving love,
Revealed to us in Christ Your Son & my Saviour.
Jesus thank you for the great sacrifice & price You paid for my salvation,
That you willingly shed your precious blood to redeem me & reconcile me to God.
Holy Spirit keep me living fully in the flow of God’s forgiving love,
Freely receiving it & freely releasing it.
This I ask In Jesus mighty Name.
Amen
