The Hope of Glory

The God of hope makes available & releases abundant hope to us ‘In Christ’.
That hope is a living vibrant hope that does not disappoint (1 Peter 1:3; Romans 5:5).
It is full of promise & certainty both in the present & into the future.
It holds us fast & we are to hold fast to it. That will be our focus for today.

we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:18b-20

The hope we have in Christ is like an anchor for the soul. It holds us fast, sure & steadfast.
It is a strong connection to god secured through Jesus our forerunner who has gone before us.
As our great High priest Jesus interceded for us upon Calvary to make a way.
There is nothing now to separate us form the love of God (Romans 8:38-39).
That is the certainty & strong confidence of our hope ‘In Christ’ – our consolation.
The fullness of God’s love & freedom to enter His presence. What an amazing privilege.
It is a refuge which we run to & lay hold of. Christ lays hold of us but we must also lay hold (seize & grasp tightly – by faith) of Him.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

We are to hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering.
Standing strong & holding tight in all circumstances & every season of life & faith.
We can take heart & encouragement that He who has promised us such hope is faithful.
Through His never-ending faithfulness God has the power to deliver on His promises.
Christ is the YES & amen to those promises (1 Corinthians 1:20).
The Holy Spirit is the down payment & guarantee (2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5).
We can therefore hold fast with confidence & conviction in full assurance of faith.

As God’s people we have been granted & gifted an incredible hope ‘In Christ’.
Christ lays hold of us through that hope, but we too must grasp tightly & hold firm the hope we have in Him.
What a hope we have. It is anchored in the Father’s presence through our forerunner Jesus. Hallelujah!!

For Reflection

  • In what ways am I holding on & holding fast to my hope ‘In Christ’?
  • In what ways am I making confession of the hope I have in Christ?
  • Meditate upon the way our hope ‘In Christ’ holds us fast & how we are to hold fast to it & Him.

2 songs related to this theme:

Heavenly Father, God of hope,
Thank you that in your great love & grace you made provision for the hope that is an anchor for my soul,
That it is found in Jesus Christ, your Son & my Saviour.
Jesus thank you that You have laid hold of me & hold me fast,
That You have forever made a way for me into the Father’s presence.
Holy Spirit keep me holding firm & holding fast onto my hope ‘In Christ’,
Give me confidence & strength to keep making the good confession.
This I ask In Jesus mighty Name.
