As a Church we believe that a big part of coming alongside those with disabilities, whether visible or invisible, is breaking down barriers to accessibility. All people deserve access to the gospel, to community, and to worship.

Who are we?

ChristChurch is a friendly, welcoming church that has community and sharing the Good News of Jesus at its heart. We meet at Acton Community Resource Centre every Sunday morning at 10:30.
You can always be assured of a warm welcome and friendly face as you arrive and a great cuppa and biscuit at the end!

As you arrive:

The centre has a big car park, with disabled parking close to the entrance. We encourage you to arrive 5-10 minutes early so that you can enjoy our countdown and get settled but also understand that this isn’t always possible. If you arrive late, please don’t worry, make your way all the way to the café area and the door on your left will lead you in to the back of church.

Access to the centre is wheelchair accessible and there are double doors throughout the building. Upon arrival you will be welcomed on the door by our brilliant welcoming team.

There are no pews so seating is flexible. If you would prefer not to sit in the middle of the congregation, please speak to someone at the back of the hall, they will be happy to assist you.

During the Celebration:

During the celebration, which will last just over an hour or so, there will be various elements including times of singing, prayer, reading the Bible, listening to speakers etc. Please feel free to join in with as little or much as you want.

We do have flags and instruments at the back that everyone can use in our worship and we have some sensory toys available.

Hearing Loop:
The main hall has a PA system and is fitted with a hearing loop for those using a hearing aid. All elements of the celebration come through the PA and loop.

All our words for the worship are displayed on the screen in large text and in colours that are non complex and easy to see and read.
We use slides throughout the celebration and sometimes use recorded music and videos.

At any time during the celebration, the toilets can be accessed. The toilets are located close to the main entrance to the building. All are spacious however there is a dedicated disabled toilet.

The centre has a large hall where the main celebration takes place. Directly outside the hall there is a café area with a comfortable seating area if you would like somewhere quiet to sit.

Once a month we share communion together, the bread is gluten free and we drink juice instead of wine. If you need communion bringing to you, please raise your hand and the celebration leader will bring it over.

Online content:

Our website is a great place to find all the information you need about ChristChurch. The website is accessible and is compatible with most screen readers.

We record all of our sermons and they are available online shortly after the celebration. These can be accessed via the sermons page on this website.

When watching the sermon back online you can use the subtitle option for captions.

Practical, Pastoral and Prayer

As a church, we care for one another. We support each other with practical help, pastoral help and through prayer.

We have weekly and monthly programmes that you are welcome to attend. We offer a mid-week parent and toddler group, mid-week Bible studies, and have regular social times where we can meet up with one another.

We like to support each other in the good times and the bad. If you require any practical support, we will try and help in any way we can and will direct you to charities and organisations with which we are affiliated.

As a church we really believe in the power of prayer and have many people within the church that would be happy to support you in prayer. Please email one of the people from this pamphlet to chat more about this.
