Reconciled to be Reconcilers

God reconciled us to Himself through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:19).
We are pardoned for purpose, rescued & reconciled to be reconcilers.
Reconciled to God ‘In Christ’ to reconcile people, places & this planet unto the Lord.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

God through His great grace love & mercy not only saves & redeems us but incredibly He commits to us the word & work of reconciliation.
As His children we become kingdom agents of reconciliation. That is a part of the family business.
A family tasked with calling people, places & this planet back into right relationship with God – the Creator & Redeemer.
We are those who seek to bring peace – peace with God, peace in places & peace with one another.
Peacemakers of, & for, the Lord.

As followers of Christ, each one of us has been given a ministry of reconciliation.
Reconciliation means to re-join, to put together again, to restore harmony.
We are to be those who bring & restore harmony to relationships.
Constantly calling all people & things back into harmonious relationship with God.
Constantly pointing people to Christ through whom this is possible.

Through the sacrificial death & miraculous resurrection of Christ reconciliation with God is possible.
It is freely available to all – forgiveness, freedom & resurrection life ‘In Christ’.
You & I have the awesome privilege & important task of making that known.
Reconciled ‘In Christ’ to see others reconciled to Christ.

For Reflection

  • In what ways is God leading me to work for peace?
  • Are my relationships harmonious?
  • Mediate upon the wonder of being reconciled to God.

A song related to this theme:

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you reconcile us to Yourself ‘In Christ’ our Saviour.
Thank you that You are making all things right in & through, Your precious Son.
Through the power & presence of the indwelling Spirit,
Teach & train us to be effective reconcilers who bear & bring your peace & hope.
In the mighty name of Jesus,
Amen
