Wars & Rumours of Wars
Jesus warned us that wars & rumours of wars would persist until He returns.
There are wars & conflicts raging all around this globe right now & not just in Eastern Europe.
They are a sad reflection of humanities plight following the fall.
An all too grim reminder of living in God’s world, man’s way.
The deceptions of Satan coercing mankind to allow sin & evil to flourish.
At the same time they are a sign of the times for us as we live in the end times & the last days.
We who walk this earth in the overlap of the ages must understand & act with discernment.
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled;
for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:5-8 NKJV
In these times of great sorrow & suffering we must keep listening to Jesus.
Listening to, & learning from, Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7).
That is the way to access the peace He brings and prevent ourselves being troubled & tempted to doubt & fear.
To keep looking unto Him & keep trusting in all He warned us about & promised would come.
To hold fast to His truth so that we too are not deceived by diabolical lies.
The day will come when the Lord will turn the man-made machinations of war into creative & cultivating tools.
Humanity will no longer learn war but walk in the Lord’s paths of peace (Isaiah 2:2-5).
That is one of the reasons why Jesus died upon the cross & rose from the grave – God’s glorious New Creation (Revelation 21 & 22).
The outcome of the age-old war was decisively won on Calvary. The victory of God over sin, death & evil.
At the sounding of the 7th trumpet love wins, God wins, the Kingdom comes in all its fullness (Revelation 11:15).
Hallelujah. Jesus returns in triumph as judge of all. Evil may proper in the short term but it’s end is sure & certain.
Our role in prayer is to pray for God’s will & heaven to come upon this earth (Matthew 6:10).
We pray for the future (secured in Christ) to be made manifest in the present.
Let us pray that the Lord turns the Russian war machine into creative & cultivating tools.
Let us pray that the Lord does this to each & every machine of war that is active upon the earth right now.
Let us cry out for & work for peace wherever & however we can.
Let us give generously to help the suffering plight of so many innocent people caught up in the horrors of war.
Let us welcome the stranger & refugee seeking safety & sanctuary into our countries & communities.
Let us truly be children of our Heavenly Father & imitators of our Lord & Master – Jesus.
PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for heaven’s miracle in our day.
A song related to this theme:
We thank you for Your eternal victory in Christ.
Teach us to pray & act for Your kingdom to come ever more fully upon this earth.
Holy Spirit keep envisioning us with the glories of heaven & the Kingdom’s beauty,
Give us strength & power to keep crying out for that in our intercessions,
That we might see them manifest on this earth.
This we ask in the mighty Name of Jesus,
