The Wonder of Joy

Joy is the sure & certain sign of a heart united, & in constant communion, with Christ.
Christ endured the sufferings of the cross so that we could have open access to the presence of God (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Through His death & resurrection Jesus forever opened the way & ever extends an invitation to endless joy.
The joy of friendship & fellowship with our Heavenly Father. O what a saviour.

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’
Acts 2:28

God’s presence exudes love, light, life, hope, peace & joy.
Any encounter with Him is to touch & tap into those great virtues & divine characteristics that bring transformation to our lives.
Time spent with Him will fill our hearts, souls & spirits with deep & lasting joy.
The joy of knowing & experiencing His love, light & life.
The joy of the salvation we have through Christ His Son (Psalm 51:12).

Joy is not the absence of suffering, pain or trouble in our lives but it is the presence of God in the midst of any & all the circumstances of life.
As joy is experienced through God’s presence we can know it at any time, in any place & in any situation.
To know God is to know & experience His joy. To look for Him, & to Him, in all circumstances – to keep our gaze centered on Him.
Because of Christ’s great sacrifice the presence of God is our everlasting & unchanging eternal reward.
He never leaves or forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5; Deuteronomy 31:6 & 8) so His presence is ever with us.

His presence never leaves us but our perception of that presence can & does change.
We can ignore that presence but we can never evade it!!! What a wonder of wonders!!!
His presence, & therefore His joy, is ever encircling, ever embracing & ever penetrating us – so, so good.
Our awareness of that wonderful truth constantly shifts but the reality of God’s presence never changes or diminishes.
Joy is the reward of practicing the presence of God – acknowledging that our Father is constantly abiding in us & abiding with us.
In every moment we are to take great pleasure that God is with us.
Joy & laughter are the gifts of acknowledging & living in the power & freedom of that great truth.
Let us with confidence & great conviction moment by moment readily come into His presence (Hebrews 4:14-16).
In that presence is fullness of joy & pleasure forevermore. HALLELUJAH!!!
May it be our deepest desire & constant habitation.

For Reflection

  • Am I in aware that the Lord takes great pleasure in me?
  • In what ways am I practicing the presence of God?
  • Meditate on the wonder of God ‘s presence that is ever with us.

A song related to this theme:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the joy & great pleasure that exudes from Your presence to us Your beloved children,
Thank you that You are ever with us, abiding in & with us.
Holy Spirit make me ever aware of Your presence,
Teach & train us to keep centering ourselves in You.
This we ask in the mighty Name of Jesus.
