The Power of Jesus’ Blood

The precious powerful blood of Christ rescues, ransoms, redeems, restores & reconciles us.
It does so by purifying from sin, releasing forgiveness & bringing peace & reconciliation by drawing us near to God.
Jesus is the mediator of a New EVERLASTING Covenant established through His shed blood (Mark 14:24, Hebrews 13:20, 1 Peter 1:19).
Yet another benefit of the precious blood of Jesus is that it brings us into freedom.
Freedom from sin & death to be who we were truly created to be. JUST Awesome.

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. Ephesians 1:7 New Living Translation

and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. Revelation 1:5 New Living Translation

Through the precious blood of Christ we have freedom & what a freedom that is.
Freedom from the penalty & power of sin. We have a new Lord & Master – Christ our Saviour.
Freedom from death & the grave through the free gift of eternal life (John 10:28, 17:2-3).
We may pass through physical death, but we will never die – Hallelujah (John 11:25-26).
Freedom to live in the glorious liberty of the children of God (Romans 8:21; Galatians 5:1).
Freedom to enter God’s presence with confidence at any time (Hebrews 4:16, Romans 5:1-3).
Wow what wonderful benefits & blessings these are.

We have been freed through the blood of Christ our liberator.
Freed to be who we were truly created to be – Sons, servants, saints, slaves & soldiers of the Lord.
We reclaim our original & eternal destiny in Christ our Saviour.
It is an incredible freedom we step into ‘In Christ’.
We find true freedom & we find our true selves (God given identity) when we find Christ – Hallelujah!

R.C. Sproul says that the only true freedom man ever has is when he becomes a slave of Jesus Christ.
When we become captives of God’s great love & grace ‘in Christ’ we find true freedom.
True freedom is therefore a gift for the children of God. A special privilege for the family of God.
It was purchased at great cost. Not with silver & gold but with the precious priceless blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19).
Stand fast therefore in the freedom for which He has set you free (Galatians 5:1).

For Reflection

  • Am I standing fast & confident in the freedom I have ‘In Christ’?
  • How confident am I in my identity & destiny ‘In Christ’ right now?
  • Meditate upon our freedom ‘In Christ’ as beloved children of God.

A song related to this theme:

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that through Your great love & grace I find freedom in Christ my Saviour.
Jesus thank you that You are my glorious liberator,
And for all the expressions of freedom You bring to me.
Holy Spirit thank you that where You are there is freedom & liberty,
Lead me ever deeper into that freedom so that I may be who Your ever intended me to be.
This I ask In Jesus mighty Name.
Amen
