The Power of Jesus’ Blood

The precious powerful blood of Christ makes available a New EVERLASTING Covenant.
Through that shed blood we discover life – life in all it’s fulness & abundance (John 10:10).
Through the blood of Jesus we are born again to eternal Life (John 3:1-21).
We have a new living hope as part of the new humanity ‘In Christ’ (1 Peter 1:3; Colossians 3:9-10).
Jesus shed His blood & died for us so that we might share His life. Just amazing!!!

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.” John 6:53-58 NKJV

Through the precious blood of Christ we receive life – spiritual life, eternal life. SELAH.
The very life of God Himself. Given freely & liberally with abundance. How awesome is that!!
We eat Christ’s flesh & drink His blood when we believe & trust in the great sacrifice He made for us.
Through His death & resurrection we are saved & become a part of the new humanity ‘In Christ’.
New Creations through the death & resurrection of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The life is in the blood & it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life (Leviticus 17:11).
Christ shed his blood & gave up his like in our place upon Calvary’s cross.
Upon that cross as His blood flowed for us Jesus interceded & He made atonement for us (Isaiah 52:13-53:12).
His life & blood was given for us that we might take up & share His life. What a wonderful exchange!!
We remember & forever declare that sacrifice when we take Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
In His death is our life. Eternal life in Christ through the power of His shed blood.

Christ’s body & blood is spiritual nourishment & strength for us. We feed on Him.
The Manna in the wilderness fed the Israelites one day at a time. All who ate it eventually died.
The Bread of Life – Christ – feeds eternally & those who eat it will never die. It satisfies & satiates.
In Him there is strength, help, healing, wholeness & SHALOM. Hallelujah.
What a saviour. O how precious, priceless & powerful is the blood of Jesus.

Jesus talks in the passage above about those who feed, & keep feeding (active & ongoing) on Him.
We must come to Christ daily as our Saviour to feed on Him.
To keep being nourished by Him through our daily bread.
Those who continually feed (keep believing & trusting) on Him will live.
They will live in fellowship with Father, Son & Spirit. How wonderful!!
Our spiritual life is dependent (past, present & future) on the blood of the Son, our Saviour.
How wonderful, how marvellous that Jesus willingly shed His precious blood for you & me!!

For Reflection

  • Am I feeding on Christ daily?
  • How regularly am I remembering Christ’s great sacrifice & contemplating His soon return?
  • Meditate upon the life we receive through Christ’s shed blood.

A song related to this theme:

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that through Your great love & grace Christ made intercession & atonement for me.
Jesus thank you that in You is life, that you are my life-giver,
Abundant life, eternal life , the very life of God Himself.
Holy Spirit keep me believing & trusting in Christ my Lord & Saviour,
Keep me feeding on the body & blood of Jesus.
This I ask In Jesus mighty Name.
Amen
