Ministry Matters

We have been looking into an ABCD of ministry matters.
A represented us being anointed by the Anointed One & walking in His authority.
B recognised we are blessed to be a blessing & C the fact that we need to be clean & compliant vessels in the Lord’s service.
Ministry flows more easily & powerfully when we stay close to the Lord & stay clean in our living.
Today we have reached the D. Delight in the presence & do your duty by fulfilling His purpose.
Enjoy the pleasure of His presence but be sure to please the Father’s heart by fulfilling the purpose He has for you.

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! 1 Chronicles 16:11

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19

Duty & delight are the twin parallel tracks we traverse in our life journey with the Lord.
The delight of seeking His presence or face & the duty of fulfilling His purpose for our lives.
The Scriptures repeatedly exhort us to seek the Lord’s face or presence.
We are promised that if we seek His face with all our hearts we will find it (Deuteronomy 4:29; Isaiah 55:6; Luke 11:10).
Desiring the Lord’s presence is continual process of setting our hearts, minds & wills to seek His face.
He is ever with us (Matthew 28:20;Hebrews 13:5) but He desires that we draw ever closer to Him too (James 4:8).
This is easier in our day because of the sacrifice of Jesus. We have free access 24/7/365 eternally. Hallelujah!!!
There is great reward when we do (Hebrews 11:6). Joy, peace, pleasure, refreshment, intimacy & delight in the presence of the Lord.
Time in the presence tells – in every way – & people will know.

We seek His presence so that we can minister with purpose from His presence.
Like Moses when we touch the presence it touches us & leaves it’s distinctive mark (Exodus 34:29-35; 2 Corinthians 3:7-8).
The light & glory of the Lord radiating though our lives to touch others.
Like Jesus we are to draw aside to be with the Lord & then minister from that presence.
This is to be a repeating cycle & established rhythm. In & out of His presence to carry out purposeful ministry & mission.
That is our duty & delight, pleasure & purpose. Unto the Lord & from the Lord. To & fro, to & fro.
Time in His presence to discover His will & then time in ministry & mission to carry out His will.

There is a general purpose upon our lives as well as a bespoke individual one.
We are all called to play our part in fulfilling the great commission, to love one another & to be minsters of reconciliation.
Alongside this are the bespoke natural & spiritual gifts the Lord graces us with & the specific calls & assignments He gives to us.
Both are vitally & equally important. The individual purposes facilitating & enabling the corporate call unto all.
Spend time in his presence whenever you can so that you can minister His presence unto others.
Establish healthy rhythms of drawing aside with the Lord & from there moving out in ministry & mission.
Delight in the Lord & fulfil your duties unto Him. Seek & find His glorious face so that it may radiate through you to others.
We bless the Father’s heart & give Him pleasure by entering His presence & carrying out His purpose. So GOOD!!!
Stay on the twin tracks!!!

For Reflection

  • In what ways am I seeking to enter the presence of the Lord?
  • Do I understand the principle & secondary purposes the Lord has called me to?
  • Meditate upon our duty & delight unto the Lord.

A song related to this theme:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that there is fulness of joy in your presence,
And that because of Jesus I am ever welcome in Your presence.
Jesus thank you that You have opened up the way into the Father’s presence,
That there is nothing to separate me from the depths of His love & intimacy.
Holy Spirit as I delight in the presence help me to fulfil Your purpose for my life,
Keep me focused on Your corporate call as well as the bespoke tasks You have assigned unto me,
May I be balanced in the duties & delight of my discipleship journey.
This I ask In Jesus mighty Name.
