The Beauty & Blessing of Place

We have seen how the Lord blesses us with several beautiful places.
the Father’s house (John 14:1-3)
the secret place (Matthew 6:6)
the hiding place (Psalm 27:5, 32:7)
the dwelling place (Ephesians 2:22)
the spacious place (Psalm 18:19 & 36)
the pleasant place (Psalm 16:6 & 11)
the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3-4, 2:5-7)
Today we will focus in upon our last blessed & beautiful place.
The Place RESERVED for us at the wedding feast of the Lamb. Hallelujah!!

Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’
”And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that!
I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus.
Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:9-10

Blessed are those who are called & invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
We have an open invitation & a reserved place if we stay strong in our faith in Christ.
Those who stand strong & firm in the faith (Romans 11:19-24) & those who endure to the end will be saved (Matthew 10:22, 24:13).
The saints who have persevered in the faith will take their place at this magnificent wedding feast & celebration.
Whilst we stay & stand strong ‘In Christ’ our place is safe & secure.

The wedding invitation has gone out through the sacrificial death of Christ.
The response is to accept Him as Lord & saviour of one’s life.
Once saved we are to make ourselves ready for the wedding feast.
We are to be ever watchful & prepared (Matthew 25:1-13). Keep your lamp trimmed & your oil well stocked.
We are also to clothe ourselves appropriately (Matthew 22:1-14). Clean hands, pure hearts & righteous acts.
Everybody pays careful attention getting ready for a wedding & for this the most special of weddings so must we!!

Many will & have been called but who will be found faithful & be chosen as the bride of Christ.
Many are called but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14).
We must take responsibility for our spiritual lives whilst walking in step with the Holy Spirit.
We must be those who seek to go ever deeper with the Lord & grow & mature as a result.
We have received the invitation, ‘In Christ’ our place is reserved.
Our task now is to stay faithful & true unto the Lord. Make sure you stay watchful, prepared & ever ready.
The Spirit & the bride say come – Maranatha (Revelation 22:17 & 20).

For Reflection

  • In what ways am I clothing myself appropriately as a saint of the Most High God?
  • How am I paying attention to my spiritual growth & development?
  • Meditate upon the invitation & reservation at the wedding feast of the Lamb.

A song related to this theme:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that You invite & call me to the wedding feast of the Lamb,
That ‘In Christ’ my place is reserved.
Jesus thank you that You made the sacrifice necessary to make me a saint & son of God,
And that you are coming back to receive Your faithful bride unto Yourself.
Holy Spirit keep me faithful & true unto Christ my Lord & Saviour,
Teach & train me to keep trimming my wick & restocking my oil jar,
Give me wisdom & grace to keep clothing myself appropriately.
This I ask In Jesus mighty Name.
