God’s Presence

God’s eternal dwelling place is the heavens (1 Kings 8:30).
Graciously the Lord choose to dwell & manifest His presence in a place on earth – the tabernacle & later the temple.
A movement from place to person took place with the coming of Jesus God’s presence was in the physical body of Jesus.
Following Christ’s Ascension & the pouring out of the Spirit God’s presence now resides in the people of God.
In the individual believer (temples of the Holy Spirit) & as a spiritual temple in the Body of Christ – the Church of Jesus Christ.
There is still one more movement to take place. God will dwell fully, face to face, in the midst of His resurrected people.
This will be when Heaven & earth reunite in God’s glorious New Creation. This will be the focus today. SELAH.

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.
Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:1-4 NKJV

When Jesus returns as He has promised God’s glorious New Creation will be fully revealed.
God will tabernacle (dwell with & fully reveal His glorious presence) with His people in the holy city, the New Jerusalem.
A garden city where perfect communion will take place with God – face to face (Revelation 22:4).
The Lord’s Great Name will be sealed upon His beloved children’s foreheads – Gods treasured possessions.
No more pain, no more sin, sickness, sorrow, suffering, evil or death. SELAH
Every tear wiped away as we dwell in perpetual peace (SHALOM) & harmony with the Lord.
What an incredible destiny awaits the child of God. Hallelujah!!

The Body of Christ – the Church of Jesus Christ – His glorious bride will be joined with Christ the Bridegroom.
Believers will be presented faultless before the Lord’s glorious presence with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24).
How amazing is that!! Glorious eternal days of great celebration & ecstatic delight. SELAH
What a future awaits you if you remain ‘In Christ’ & stay faithful to endure until the end.
The great & ancient promises to Israel fulfilled in, & through, the Lord Jesus Christ (Exodus 19:4-6, 29:45-46) Hallelujah!!

We see the presence of God completing its full movement from place to person (Christ) to persons (Body of Christ) to God’s own person.
The glorious & full presence of God revealed to His children forever more – no measure held back. Wow – what a great privilege.
Even more amazingly because of the finished saving work of Christ we will stand perfect, faultless & blameless in God’s presence.
Nothing to separate or hold us back from the amazing grace, glory, goodness & love of the Lord. So, so good!!
How amazing that the presence of God is with, & in even greater measure awaits, every believer. SELAH
An eternity of intimate friendship & satiating fellowship within the light & glory of the Lord & the Lamb.
Marantha – Come Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:20). Hallelujah!!

For Reflection

  • How strong & clear is my vision of the destiny I have as child of God?
  • In what ways have you anticipated meeting the Lord face to face?
  • Meditate upon the great promise that believers will be presented perfect in God’s glorious presence.

A song related to this theme:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that You love to dwell with, in & among Your chosen people,
And that You have made that possible through Your Son & my saviour Jesus Christ.
Jesus, thank you that You are the Chosen One, The elect of God,
That Your great sacrifice & saving work has welcomed me into God’s presence.
Holy Spirit strengthen my vision of Christ & God’s glorious New Creation,
That I may faithfully fulfil my destiny & purpose ‘In Christ’.
This I ask in the mighty Name of Jesus.
