God’s Presence

We have seen a dynamic movement of God’s presence from place to person (Christ) to persons (Body of Christ) to God’s own person.
The great privilege for the child of God is that the Lord’s presence is with, in & amongst His beloved children.
Through the saving work of Christ we have access to that presence at all times & in any place.
There is no better place to be than the presence of God. The place of full joy & eternal pleasure. SELAH.
This will be our focus for today.

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 NKJV

In God’s presence is fullness of joy & pleasure forevermore. What a great place to be!!!
This psalm is applied to Jesus by the New Testament writers. ‘In Christ’ believers benefit too.
The Joy of the lord is an inner delight & a deep bless within our spirit being.
It is not dependant on feelings or circumstances but is ever within us.
It is a source of great strength & comfort in every season & circumstance of life (Nehemiah 8:10). SELAH

The joy of the Lord is to be enjoyed now but it is also a future reward (Matthew 25:21-23).
The reward for faithful, loyal, obedient service is to bask in the presence & joy of the Lord.
The joy of the Lord is to encounter & experience the outpouring of resurrection life.
That is something to be laid hold of & received both in the present & the future & for all eternity. Hallelujah!!

Here is an opportunity to meet with the Lord in the most intimate of fellowship.
That invitation is ever before us because of the saving work of Christ.
Jesus has made a way for humanity to freely enter the presence of God that we must follow. SELAH
An amazing & awesome privilege but also something that I must take responsibility for.
The joy of the Lord is my strength, & your strength. His everyday & eternal pleasures await both you & me. Hallelujah!!

For Reflection

  • How frequently do I enter the presence of the Lord?
  • In what ways is the joy of the Lord revealing itself in me?
  • Meditate upon the joy & pleasure that is encountered & experienced in the Lord’s presence.

A song related to this theme:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you that ‘In Christ’ You invite & welcome me into Your presence,
And that You desire intimate friendship & fellowship with me.
Jesus, thank you that have made a new & living way for me to enter the lord’s presence,
And that in You is fullness of joy, pleasures forevermore & great strength.
Holy Spirit keep me faithfully & loyally serving the Lord,
Encountering & experiencing the joy He gives & the pleasures He brings.
This I ask in the mighty Name of Jesus.
