The Power of Testimony

We are equipped & empowered to be witnesses for Christ (Acts 1:8).
Sharing our testimony brings about a number of things.
It promotes the message of Jesus & provides opportunity for people to come to faith.
At the same time it is one of the ways that we overcome our adversary & accuser Satan.
Through our testimony Jesus is lifted high & we triumph over the enemy. How good is that.
Your testimony is more powerful than you might have thought!!!

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”, Revelation 12:10-12

The ultimate triumph & power lies in the blood of Jesus & His sacrificial death to save us.
There is also power in our testimonies & laying down our lives in God’s service & His cause.
Jesus won the eternal decisive victory on Calvary. His victory is our victory.
We overcome because of the blood of Jesus & in the Name of Jesus.
We overcome because of the blood of Jesus & in the Name of Jesus.
Every time we testify & tell our story (of faith in Christ) that victory is made known & enforced.
The war against sin, death & evil was won through Christ’s death & resurrection.
However the battle to see the kingdom of God come fully upon this earth goes on.
That continuing battle is being won in part through our testimonies.
We overcome when we make Christ known. Every testimony makes room for the kingdom to come MORE.

God’s victory is not dependant on me but It can be enhanced by my testimony.
We testify through our lives as well as our lips.
How we live & set example for others tells an equally powerful message & story.
Your attitudes & actions testify as powerfully as your words.
How we live matters – always & in every way – & people are always watching.
The message & the messenger have to marry & match up.
There needs to be consistency & closeness in what we say & how we live (walk the talk!!).
People know those who have spent time with Christ. It tells & it shows. It testifies.

Shame (what people might think about us) can be a hindrance to sharing our testimony & the Gospel (Romans 1:16-17).
The Holy Spirt is the one who gives us strength & boldness to be witnesses & to testify.
Let us keep drawing strength from Him to keep sharing our story & testimony.
Our testimony brings glory to God, promotes the Gospel & brings victory over our enemy.
We tell our story for God’s glory. Hallelujah!!
Keep testifying & keep overcoming. May it ever be so.

For Reflection

  • In what ways am I hampered or hindered from sharing my testimony?
  • Where & in what ways am I overcoming in life right now?
  • Meditate upon the power of your testimony.

A song related to this theme:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for Your great victory through Christ,
For reaching out to rescue me from sin, death & evil.
Jesus thank you for saving me & being the source of my overcoming in life.
Holy Spirit stir & strengthen to keep faithfully witnessing for Jesus,
So that more people might come to know the Saviour.
This I ask in, & through, Your mighty Name.
