Three Key Kingdom Dynamics
Jesus came to this earth to bring the Kingdom of God with power & with all it’s fulness.
A kingdom that would triumph over all the kingdoms of this world (Isaiah 9:6-7; Daniel 7:13-14).
Because of the incarnation & then the death & resurrection of Christ the Kingdom of God will come fully upon this earth.
There is however a now & a not yet tension at this current time. The kingdom is come, it is coming & it is to come.
We look forward to the day when the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of the Lord & His Christ (Revelation 11:15).
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Revelation 4:17
Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15
There are three key dynamics that the Lord is ever seeking to achieve through the Kingdom coming:
an exodus from oppression & a return from exile (the freedom from death & forgiveness of sins)
the defeat of evil (the war against evil & Satan being cast down)
the return of YHWH (Jehovah) to Zion (God dwelling in the midst of his people)
We will explore each theme further over the coming days.
The victory of Christ through His death & resurrection guarantees that all 3 of these dynamics will be fulfilled.
The Lord will reign over an everlasting kingdom of peace & righteousness forever & ever. Hallelujah!
God’s victory is not dependent on me but It can be enhanced by me.
Although He doesn’t need us through His grace God chooses to work through us. How amazing is that!
We have an important role to play in seeing the Kingdom come to earth in increasing measure.
We are to seek the Kingdom as a first priority in our lives (Mathew 6:33).
We are to pray for it to come DAILY (Matthew 6:10).
We are to be those that persistently pursue it & battle (spiritually) to see it come (Matthew 11:12).
Passion, prayer, purpose & practical action for God’s kingdom.
Again we will explore these further in due course.
God we passionately ask for & we purposefully seek MORE of Your Kingdom.
- In what ways am I seeking God’s kingdom right now?
- How do my passions, prayers & practical actions relate to & express the Kingdom of God?
- Meditate upon the Kingdom having come, coming & yet to come.
A song related to this theme:
Thank you for Your great victory through Christ,
For His mighty triumph over sin, death & evil to bring Your kingdom in all it’s glory & fullness.
Jesus thank you for the exodus & return form exile we experience through You.
Holy Spirit use me in prayer & practical action to see the Kingdom come,
Keep stirring my passions & keep me persistently pursuing Your justice, joy, peace, healing, salvation & deliverance,
That more & more of the Kingdom might come upon this earth.
This I ask in, & through, Your mighty Name.
